Terms of Service

ZenFitness is a personal fitness companion web application that allows users to:

• Create, manage, and follow custom or premade workout plans.
• Enrol in guided "Fitness Journeys" with a structured rank progression system — advancing through ranks by completing trials that prove mastery.
• Log workouts and receive AI-powered exercise scoring to objectively track performance over time.
• Upload PDF documents to have workout plans automatically extracted using AI.
• Track statistics, scores, and rank milestones across their fitness history.

The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, and will provide reasonable advance notice before doing so.

2.1. Registration

To access the core features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register using an email address and password, or by signing in with your Google account via Google OAuth 2.0. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, and to keep your account information up to date.

2.2. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@zenfitness.pro if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.

2.3. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this minimum age requirement.

2.4. One Account Per Person

You may not create multiple accounts. Duplicate accounts may be suspended or terminated at our discretion.

3.1. Ownership

You retain full ownership of all personal data, workout plans, workout logs, and other content you create, upload, or input into the Service ("User Content").

3.2. Licence to Us

By submitting User Content, you grant ZenFitness a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and use that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you. We will not share, sell, or use your User Content for any purpose beyond operating the Service.

3.3. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of the User Content you provide. This includes ensuring you have the legal right to upload any third-party document (such as a PDF workout plan) to the Service and to use it for AI processing.

The Service includes AI-powered features powered by Google's Gemini models via the Genkit framework. These features include:

• PDF Workout Extraction: Non-personal text content extracted from your uploaded PDF is sent to Google AI to parse and structure a workout plan. The original PDF is not stored permanently on our servers.
• Exercise Scoring: Exercise names from your logged workouts are sent to Google AI to assign appropriate difficulty multipliers used in scoring calculations.

By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or safe to perform.
• You must verify any AI-extracted workout plan before attempting the exercises described.
• ZenFitness is not liable for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in AI-generated content.
• You have the legal right to upload and process any document you submit through the Service.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, transmit, or store any content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes on the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or any backend systems or infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or trade secrets of the application.
• Use automated means — including bots, scrapers, or crawlers — to access or interact with the Service without our prior written consent.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.

Excluding your User Content, all aspects of the Service — including the Fitness Journeys, rank systems and progression structure, AI scoring methodology, application design, text, graphics, and logos — are the exclusive intellectual property of Adam Lamprecht / ZenFitness and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to access and use the Service solely for your personal, non-commercial fitness tracking purposes. This licence does not grant you any right to copy, reproduce, distribute, sublicence, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.

Your use of the Service is subject to our Health & Fitness Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In summary: ZenFitness is not a substitute for professional medical or fitness advice. The Service is provided for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for assessing the suitability of any exercise and should consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any new fitness programme. You use the Service at your own risk.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of significant changes that affect your use of the Service. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable South African law, ZenFitness (Adam Lamprecht) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, personal injury, or property damage, arising out of or relating to:

• Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service.
• Any conduct or content of any third party in connection with the Service.
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
• Physical injury or harm resulting from following workout plans, exercises, or fitness guidance provided by or generated within the Service.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. As the Service is currently provided free of charge, this amount is zero.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Adam Lamprecht / ZenFitness from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or connected with: your violation of these Terms; your User Content; your use or misuse of the Service; or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via your in-app profile settings. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably determine that your conduct is harmful to the Service, its integrity, or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where reasonable, notify you via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
